## Backend Architect - Head of Area

### Role Description

Your main goal will be to lead the strategy, evolution, and governance of cloud-native backend architectures for high-traffic, large-scale platforms, ensuring resilience, performance, security, and scalability.

You will act as a bridge between the business/product vision and technical execution, driving advanced practices such as **Spec-Driven Development (SDD)** and **AI-Assisted Architecture** to empower teams and measure technical impact against business KPIs.

### Key Responsibilities

- **Leadership & Governance:** Guide and mentor backend teams and tech leads, chairing Architecture Review Board (ARB) sessions.

- **Design & Resilience:** Design decoupled architectures, microservices, BFF (Backend-for-Frontend), and Event-Driven Architecture (EDA) models capable of supporting high volumes of concurrent users.

- **Standardization & Innovation:** Define standards using Spec-Driven Development (OpenAPI, GraphQL, AsyncAPI) and drive the integration of Artificial Intelligence tools (*AI-Driven Engineering*) into the software development lifecycle.

### Key Requirements

- **Experience:** 10+ years in Backend development and 5+ years in management or architecture leadership roles.

- **Cloud & Containers:** Strong expertise in AWS, Azure, or GCP; Kubernetes and API Gateways.

- **Patterns & Events:** DDD, CQRS, Event Sourcing, Kafka/MSK, EventBridge, Temporal/Camunda.

- **Persistence:** SQL databases (PostgreSQL/Aurora), NoSQL (DynamoDB, MongoDB), Caching (Redis), and Vector DBs.

- **AI for Engineering:** Experience with and integration of tools like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or Amazon Q.

- **Observability:** OpenTelemetry, Datadog, or New Relic.
